by Michael Wells It has been a while since I last posted an entry in Brady’s journal. Needless to say, Brady is doing just incredibly well. He is just about back to his “normal” self. Since arriving at home also 2 weeks ago, Brady has developed an unbelievable appetite; he seems to be constantly eating and I think he is testing Sherrie’s patience but she wouldn’t have it any other way. He had a check-up on Tuesday at CHOP and everything is OK! He has not had a temperature or any signs of abnormality. He’s truly enjoying himself and we are just as happy as can be. He continues to add daily to his vocabulary and his use of sign language. His latest is signing that he wants something to eat followed with the sign for “please.” It’s just too adorable. We have gone for several walks around our neighborhood and he is actually walking a good portion of our 2 mile treks. The only minor negative side to all this joy is; Brady must remain away from people, dogs and several other things he would love to do. But all and all it’s just remarkable how well he is doing. Brady is back at CHOP this coming Tuesday for another check-up and I promise I will be more timely on reporting his results. Until then, thank you one and all for all the out pouring of love and concern, it will never be forgotten.“8 Years Later—Still No Cure for Pediatric Cancer” is a series of posts revisiting the journal kept by Sherrie and Michael Wells during the cancer diagnosis and treatment of their son, Brady Michael. Hopefully these entires will provide an understanding of the journey families face when dealing with these horrific diseases and of the important work the Hugs for Brady Foundation does.
