by Michael Wells First and most importantly; Brady is doing incredibly well. He’s been improving each and every day. His medical team is extremely pleased with his progress and it appears things are going in the right direction. Sherrie and I could not be happier! It’s just beyond my ability to write the correct words that would come close to expressing our joy, our awesome sense of peace and just our plain happiness to have our baby home and healthy. It is a blessing of mega proportions. We are back to our neighborhood walks, our playing in the yard, our laughing and being silly; life is just wonderful! So many people who helped us get through this trying period – we couldn’t have managed without each and everyone. Since coming home, a few of the many people we would like to thank: Thank you… Debbie for homemade chocolate dipped strawberries, so delicious! Shari and family for the Build-a-Bear, Brady is sure to enjoy this! Aidan for the finger paints and apron, we will try it this weekend! MaryAnn for the fish tank with Nemo and Blue, Brady named them all ready! Courtney for the play dough, does this mean he’s a big boy? Ellen, for taking the time to walk gifts over to our home, much appreciated. Rev. Maltby, for looking in on us and making sure that the Wells family is okay. Madeline, a friend of Grandma Wells, for the “Alive” tiger cub, it is adorable! Kiddie Academy family for the Toy’s R’ Us gift card, wow, you are too generous! Grandma Janice for taking such great care of Sherrie & Brady, we love you! So, until next time; prayers, hugs and good thoughts I am convinced played a major role in Brady’s success so please continue them…“8 Years Later—Still No Cure for Pediatric Cancer” is a series of posts revisiting the journal kept by Sherrie and Michael Wells during the cancer diagnosis and treatment of their son, Brady Michael. Hopefully these entires will provide an understanding of the journey families face when dealing with these horrific diseases and of the important work the Hugs for Brady Foundation does.
