A Letter from a Sick Child’s Mother
Letters like this one from Zion’s mom, Sara, inspire us. What may seem impossible for families like theirs, you make possible.
It’s an exciting time for the Hugs for Brady Foundation. We had a record-setting year from the opening of New Jersey’s first pediatric cancer research lab at Rutgers Cancer Institute, to receiving a grant that allowed us to deliver Brady Buggy® wagons nationwide. It is all thanks to the generous gifts from donors like you.
As we celebrate our successes, we also see the devastating reminders of why we need to keep fighting. In August we marked what would have been my son Brady’s 10th birthday, had cancer not taken him from our family eight years ago. We also provided two local families with financial assistance for their child’s funeral expenses this summer. It breaks my heart every time we receive the call that another beautiful child has lost their battle with cancer—and it still happens far too often.
There is still so much work to do. It is estimated that over 2,300 American children, aged newborn to 19 years old, each year die from childhood cancer. We won’t stop until that number is zero. You have the power to make that possible.
As a generous donor you enable us to pursue projects that potentially save lives. With your gift today, we will continue to support new discoveries bringing hope to kids battling childhood cancer. If you are able, I hope you will continue your exceptional support by giving to our year end fund drive. Together, we will save lives and bring us closer to a cure for kids!
I promise that your gift will change a life – and maybe even save one. Thank you again for the impact you have on the lives of the children and families that Hugs for Brady serves in the fight to eradicate childhood cancer. We are grateful for you!
