Avery Moskowitz was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroblastoma on August 8th, 2013. She soon endured 5 rounds of chemotherapy, a tumor resection, and two MIBG treatments.
Avery and her family were introduced to Hugs for Brady Foundation through Robert Wood Johnson. During her time in treatment, Hugs for Brady has delivered books, gifts, and flowers to Avery as well as to the other families of children batting cancer.
Brady Buggy Wagons have been a high point of Avery’s time in the hospital. Family members have rolled her all around the hospital. They have helped bring entertainment to her treatments and have kept her spirits high.
Recently, Avery spent 2 months at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. There she received a stem cell rescue, a NG tube, and stomach drain. All while battling VOD and gaining 10lbs of fluid. When Avery and her family came to The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, they were so happy to see Brady Buggies in use. It made them feel like a piece home was with them.
Avery will be going back for 20 sessions of proton radiation. Which will be followed by 6 months of therapy. Even with all of these treatments and hardships Avery is doing amazing.
