He strives to be like any other 3 year old, and his parents, big brother, and big sister do everything they can to make sure he is happy. Unfortunately Noor spends more time at St. Peter’s University Hospital than at a playground due to his health condition. He can’t go outside and play or be with kids his own age due to fear that he will catch a cold or get hurt in someway that for most kids may be normal but for Noor may be life-threatening.
Noor needs a bone marrow transplant and his only hope is to find a compatible donor so he may survive. Noor’s family, who are from Egypt, live in NJ and have no family here. They are counting on our help to save the life of their little boy who they love dearly and do not want to lose him.
As a community bonded by the same mission to save children’s lives, let’s come together to find Noor a donor and help this lovely family.
Be Placed on the Bone Marrow Registry
While attending the 5k and Kids Fun Run, you can register to be placed on the Bone Marrow Registry! You must be between 18 to 44 and do a simple cheek swab, that’s it! Noor’s best chances of finding a donor are amongst someone of his same ethnic background so we are reaching out to the Egyptian community that they register to save little Noor! If you know of anyone that can help, please ask them to register for the 5k and Kids Fun Run and get their simple cheek swab done at this fun event!
How You Can Help
Join the Be The Match Registry. Marrow donors in your community are urgently needed to save the lives of patients with diseases like leukemia, lymphoma or sickle cell anemia. Patients are most likely to match someone who shares their ethnic background. Click here to get involved!
